Plainview-Old Bethpage Soccer Club has presented Harry Huertas a scholarship for his many years of dedication, patience, compassion and creativity that he has put into volunteering with the TopSoccer program.
His coach, Peter Chavkin of the Juniors 5-9, says that in his 25 years of coaching the special needs players, Harry is the first volunteer who brings something special-indeed unique. Harry is enthusiastic, sincere, encouraging and engaging with the players and their parents.
We have been very fortunate to have Harry as a volunteer for our special athletes and will miss him very much as he leaves to attend Syracuse University in the fall.
This award is only a small thank you from all of us involved with POB’s TopSoccer Program.
We wish him well in his new endeavors and hope to see him when he has time off from his school responsibilities. Thank You, Harry!
